Explore ways into abstraction in this fun and informative 3 day workshop will have you discovering new ways to paint.

How to start abstract painting using a variety of starting points from nature to get you going. Shari will share different techniques to abstract nature and the everyday along with different composition approaches that are fun. You will also learn about different abstract artists and look at their work, You will learn about colour mixing and creating a harmonious palette. This workshop will take place in a hall by the beautiful Hopkins river. This workshop is also a great head start for VCE Art and Studio Art students.

DAY 1 The workshop will begin with a series of exercises with experimentation and technique trials. This will equip you for the following days where we use what we have discovered in this session.

DAY 2 Sketching in the field for the morning then back to the studio. Learn about composition and colour mixing with acrylic paints and mediums. Begin artwork.

DAY 3 work on artwork

• Tea and coffee morning tea
• PD certificate available for teachers 18hrs
