Workshop description

Spend the day with master painter Graeme Altmann learning a range of techniques to help your painting. Graeme will describe and demonstrate multiple techniques to interpret the landscape using oil paint. Graeme will also offer Q and A time to answer your individual questions about techniques and approaches. This workshop is suitable for both beginners and experienced painters and is not to be missed. Early booking recommended to avoid disappointment.

What you will learn

  • You will produce a series of small studies. Experienced painters may bring a larger canvas if they prefer.
  • How to interpret the landscape in different ways.
  • How to mix colours
  • How to use oil paint
  • How to use glazes
  • Mineral effects

 

What to bring

  • Your lunch
  • 1 x palette- wooden, plastic, disposable palette
  • A range of brushes & sizes   
  • Oil Paint- Brands Windsor and Newton or  Art Spectrum. Tubes of  Burnt Sienna, Ultramarine Blue,  Titanium White, Spectrum Yellow, Spectrum Red
  • Roll of paper towel & rags
  • Jar
  • 3- 4 x small canvas or canvas boards no smaller than 30 x 30 cm

Note, friends can share paint 👍

  • Specialty papers
  • Masking tape

What to wear

  • Smock, apron
  • Casual comfy clothing
